46th Annual Juneteenth Festival

The chapter participated in Tucson’s 46th Annual Juneteenth Festival on June 18, 2016.  We purchased an information table and engaged attendees using the rich Buffalo Soldier history.  We created brochures and pamphlets (attached with this update) as we also marketed our chapter to prospective members. Trooper Frank Bothwell, chapter parliamentarian, also participated in a wonderful presentation of what meant to be a Buffalo Soldier in the West.

Our table was next to another Buffalo Soldier organization, The Territory of Arizona Buffalo Soldiers out of Casa Grande, AZ.  Trooper Woodward discusses some the weapons Buffalo Soldiers equipped themselves with as they carried out their duties.

All in all the event went very well, especially the Buffalo Soldier history presentation which led to another presentation opportunity in July.
